Trim gauge quit on me.....

Was cruising along on beautiful Yale Lake in Cougar, WA last Sunday.....my trim gauge fluttered and then pegged itself in the up position.

Trim still works fine.

Any ideas on the gauge?

Sounds like the switch, but your going to have to post what outdrive you have.

Almost always the sending unit on the drive. I replaced mine after it did the same thing. Next time it fails, I am not going to bother replacing mine.

could be a bad connection, bad sending unit, or a bare wire somewhere in the sending unit wire...

uh hmmm....don't shoot me for the ignorance....but where is the sending unit?
