I bought a new tachometer for the boat and it has an integrated trim gauge. I would really like to get it hooked up, but I don't know where to start. The boat previously had NO gauges. From what I gather, I need to start with a Trim Sending Unit, but I have no idea what/where to check to see if I have one. The motor is an '85 Mariner 70hp (6228736)

Re: Trim Gauge

If you have trim/tilt.Then you should have a sending unit(maybe).
Look under the motor around the transom clamps.
The control cable should have all the wires in it.
Manual should have a wiring diagram.

Re: Trim Gauge

Look that motor up on Crowleymarine web site and see if it came with a trim sender or if one was avail. A lot of older ones didn't have them.
