I have a 1990 xp150 and installed a new trim sender. The needle jumped into possition as soon as I connected it but it is out of wack big time. Basicaly when it is all the way down it reads all the way up. Bassackwards. I wonder if when they installed the arm on the potentiometer they didn't have it turned to the proper setting.

Toby..... Every trim gauge sender I've worked with had two wires leading from it. I suspect yours are reversed. Remove and switch them.

yeah, I suspected the polarity was reversed when I first turned the ignition on but when I switched them it was aparent that polarity did not matter. All the wires are colorcoded to idiot proof it that is why I suspected the pots needs a revolution in the opposing direction and then put the arm back and spring on.

Rotate to gauge 180 degrees, then it will be right (I think)
