Trim help

On out 78 200 Horse Johnson we are having trim issues. Sometimes it does it, somethines it dont. When trimming the motor down it will come down and hit what I think are the trim Rods. Then the motor(Hydrolic trim) will bog down and it wont move down anymore. Sometimes it works good, Hits the rods and trims down slower, Sometimes it boggs a few seconds and then finishes trimming. Any Ideas?

Have you tried bypassing the solenoid? run a jumper between the 2 large posts and see if that raises it smoothly. Also try cleaning all contacts with contact cleaner. GL, hopefully someone else will jump in with another idea.
