Hello there, now it's time I asked a question about the trim hoses.

1978 galaxie 22xl merc 260

I am replacing the clear plastic hose going to the reverse lock out, and I am replacing the black hose (up). Only it looks like they used two grey hoses instead of one black and one grey. They have a grey hose in the up instead of the black.

I purchased the black hose, but where does it connect to? I am hoping someone can tell me. Please tell me I don't have to pull the motor or something like that.

I am hoping it just screws in to the transom plate without too much effort.

LEt me know please where it connects to

Thank you!

Re: trim hose replacement help

On the outside on the bottom of the transom assembly there is a block where your 4 trim cylinder lines connect to.Disconnect the block and pull it straight down. The lines are connected to it on the top side.It is easier if you disconnect all your trim cylinder lines first. When you disconnect the old lines or line from the block tie a string onto it and pull it up and out from the top. Then tie the string to your new line at the bottom and pull it up through the hole to the top.

And no you don't have to pull the motor!!!
