trim limit/sender wiring help needed

hey im installing new trim limit/senders and its a two wire .. does it mater which one is positive and which is negative? in the pic is where my new wires will attach to the old wires but one is taped red (for positive?)

Howdy,


It really doesn't matter.


The limit switch is just an ON/OFF switch. And the trim sender is a simple variable carbon resistor.

Just hook em up and try it.


If you go up to the top of this list of messages, you'll find the Adults-Only sticky.

You should be able to find a service manual for your model. In it, you'll find a schematic diagram for the trim circuit.

Can't you get a liitle closer and more out of focus ??????

What engine and drive? I can tell by looking it's Mercruiser, but that is about it.
