Trim Line Manifold seal?

I searched around and didn't really see this questions asked anywhere else. I have a 1981 MC-1 or Pre Alpha? Its the one with the preload pin ontop of the drive shaft for the lower unit. The trim rams/cylinders have four lines that go from the two trim rams into a small manifold that mounts to the bottom of the gimbal housing. On the inside of the boat the grey and black hydraulic lines run from this same manifold to the trim pump. I have a new quick silver gasket that goes there but I was curious if I should use some sort of sealant? The merc manual makes no mention.

Would it be a good idea to seal it with something anyway just for good measure? If so what type of sealant? RTV? OR the some 3M marine sealant?

Thanks Rick! Id rather leave it dry since its less messy. I just don't want it to leak.

Just an update. I did install the correct gasket without any additional sealant and all was good. No water whatsoever leaking in.
