Trim motor quit working...

Last summer my trim motor worked great. My boat sat all winter in my garage and now it doesn't work at all. I think when I try to bring the outdrive up, I hear it click, but that's it. And it makes no noise at all when I try to go down.

It's funny how things seem to break when they sit.

Now last year when the motor did work, I did have a problem with the outdrive leaking down. There were no external leaks, so I assumed that it was the seals in the actuators. I could be wrong.

Where do I start? There is a shop that'll rebuild the motor for right around $100. I'll check electrical connections first.

Is it possible to have someone rebuild the pump? Or should I just get a new one.

Thanks,
Steve

Assuming all of the connections are good (which it looks like they might be), I can get a used one with a 30 day warranty for $175. Sound like a good thing to do?

All I know is these trim motors are expensive new. Any idea how much to have one rebuilt?

Thanks,
Steve

I took it to a starter and alternator place. Turns out the motor is dead.
