1981 165 inline 6 cyl with a merc 165 outdrive , to change the oil lines from the tilt and trim motor to the outdrive , must the drive come off and if not how and where do they connect to the drive . thanks
You don't need to remove the outdrive. You need to drop the manifold that is mounted underneath the gimble housing (where the trim ram hoses connect) and then remove/install the hoses. It will be easiest to tie a fish rope onto the old hoses so you can pull the new ones back into position.
