1985 150hp , i replaced the motor/pump assy (one piece) and replaced the seals in the main ram piston. I cant get it to bleed properly, if it is all the way up i can lower it a few degrees then back up but i cant seem to get it up from all the way down. That is if i use the emergency valve to lower it then tighten it barely moves up.
now i have it pretty much full is there a procedure to bleed it ???
thanks d.

i am pretty sure it was up , although i may have dropped it down after the bubbles settled a while and filled it a little at a time from the down position.

So if i screwed up what is the best way to get the fluid to the right end?? also does the emergency valve stay open during any of this??
thanks very much for responding d.

raise it back and fill or remove fluid to correct level

i have raised and filled with no fix , how would you know correct level, or if removal is needed???
i have read you raise/fill and let settle for a while then top off and set etc... to get the fill right. d.

correct fluid lever is engine raised and locked up that the pump would be full of fluid,,, emg valve should be closed and operate up and down till is air gone,,,,,,,,,, you need to keep adding fluid as air is removed......to keep a full level
