Theres a trim plate above the prop with a little fin on it, can i remove the trim plate to install a trolling plate ? with the trim plate removed, i can get the trolling plate about 4 inches closer to the prop. also with the trim plate removed, it makes for a smooth surface to bolt the trolling plate too. Thanks ~

Re: Trim Plate

That trim plate you mention is very, very important. Unless you're the luckiest skipper about and your boat is perfectly well balanced then I would leave it where it is. This trim plate is the only way you can keep control of the steering via the outboard. It is adjustable and without it you will loose ability to have a "soft" steer or steering without fighting the wheel to keep the boat straight.
I strongly suggest you leave it there!
Ross
