trim plates on mmotor (outboard)

ok so two bolts/nuts off and these trim plates that are directly on the motor dont want to come off... im hammering on the studs with the nuts off... shouldnt these damn things just come straight off?? im talking about the ones just above the prop... sorry i cant seem to locate the pictures....
what am i doing wrong? im about to break somthing!!! lol....

gar... sorry... its an 1978 johnson 85 hp... but these are the plates you can get at walmart... im about to take the cutter to it.... over it... but why the hell arent these comin off??? their flippin plastic.... i dont u nderstand i dont wanna keep pounding on the lower unit...

Hydrofoils? Yes, the bolts should just come straight out. But corrosion ids probably keeping them firmly in place. Soak them in penetrating oil at least overnight.

on the underside put a socket that is bigger than the bolt head and put a sledgehammer under it. this gives a solid backing to smash away at the lower unit without bending or breaking anything. I agree that corrosion is what is holding the bolts in place.

ok thanks i figured as much but as tough as their being just wanted to double check to make sure their not flippin glued or something weird... thanks,,, im dumb...
