I purchased a 1993 25 hp Mariner EL remote and have a few questions...any answers to any questions are helpful.

1) the motor does not have power tilt and tgrim. There are 5 holes and a pin to trim the motor...but it seems that even on the highest one it will be iffy while trailering. Is this normal to see???

2) Does this motor charge the battery while running??? Do I have to make any connections for this to happen???

3) The wiring harness and battery wires are on the right side of the motor (while looking at the motor from inside the boat). I know these wires run from the control box, under the rear deck and come out a rubber boot beforre hooking to the motor. My question is regarding the other 2 cables (throttle and shift),they mount on the left side of the motor, should they follow the same route??? it seems that when you route the cables this way and turn the wheel these 2 cables get real tight

Re: trim positions

Thanks Drifter. I figured a transom saver was needed. Is there any way to check if the charging system is functioning properly???????
