Hello everyone, Long time reader but I don't post much.

I think i got a tricky one.

Ok so my electric trim stopped working today. I did the test in the manual which states to jump from the positive (in to the solenoids) to the wire to the trim motor (if the motor doesn't spin replace)

When i did that neither spun. I don't think both solenoids would go bad at the same time. So i pulled power from the bat. and it turned the motor in both directions and i heard a click from each solenoid (by changing the wires it was connected to, the switch and motor)

So i figure the power wire is bad, and i check that with the DMM to the ground and i see 12v. I cleaned all the connections. I am confused and out of ideas.

Not sure where to go from here? Any ideas? Also checked all the fuses.

thanks, and please let me know if i can clarify.

Re: Trim problem (electrical) - confused

turned out to be a bad wire from the battery to the solenoid although it was reading voltage, i guess it couldn't carry amps...I forgot to check that before i posted (not something you would think goes bad esp. when the DMM says it has volts...

thanks anyways.
