I have a 92 19.5 foot stingray runabout with a 431A volvo penta motor and 290DP outdrive. I am having some problems with my trim switches. There is a control on the dash for raising and lowering along with a red button that I have to push for bringing the trim all the way up for trailering I also have trim controls on the throttle. The problem is that the controls on the dash, specifically the up control had stopped working, but the ones on the throttle would still work, in the process of jumping some wires on the back of dash control the throttle trim controls do not work at all now but for whatever reason the ones on the dash work for now. I don’t see any fuses anywhere on this thing and relays are far and few between. If the dash controls are working for the time being what could be causing the throttle trim controls to not work at all? I am going to go ahead and change out the trim switch on the dash since it was hit and miss before anyways but what about the throttle trim?

Sounds to me like you have some loose or corroded connections. Impossible to say where, but here is a wiring diagram that will tell you what to look for.

Re: Trim problems volvo penta

Thanks for the help, turns out right after I posted this thread i found a diagram in my manual that idicated a 5 amp fuese may be the culprit, and it was, thanks again.
