Well I'm paying a little stupid tax and need a little help to solve my problem.

I took some friends out fishing Monday morning and as I was leaving the dock I pushed the switch to trim my motor down and proceeded to the fishing spot. I forgot about the switch being on and melted insulation off the wire from the from the pump to the battery. When I replace the wire next weekend I would like to put a resetable fuse between the battery and the pump. I have one now between my battery and all the power at the helm but it came with my battery selector switch.
I am having a hard time locating another one. I looked here on iboats and several others sites with no luck. Maybe I am calling it the wring name when searching???

The boat is a M/C 470 powered tritoon.

Thanks,
Larry

Ayuh,.... The trim Switch, should be a momentary switch, which shuts Off, open circuit when ya let go of it,...

Fix the Switch,....

The breaker ya linked to is 24v,... donno how that works out,...

50 amp is plenty,...

Bondo,
I completely rebuilt this tritoon from the deck up including helm I put the trim switch on a rocker switch up for up down for down. Maybe I need for the switch you described.

The breaker I found also has 12 volt models. My concern is in M/C manual #8, the trim electrical circuit there it shows a 110 amp fuse connecting from the battery to the trim solenoid. I am confused whether 50 amps between it and the battery is enough.

Ayuh,.... Forget the breaker,... It'll just be something else to go wrong,...

Get yerself a momentary switch, 'n the little square fuse from Merc,...

With the right switch, this wouldn't have happened,...
