Trim pump not working, clicking noise, VP SX-M

We have a 1999 FourWinns 190 Horizon, 4.3GL PWTR VP engine, SX-M outdrive. Last year the trim pump was not working, I replaced both relays and it worked without any additional issues all season.
This year I had no issues raising and lowering the drive while it was on the trailer, but it stopped working again as soon as I put it in the water and moved it to the slip. I wouldn’t think that the new relays would only last one season.

I hear a “clicking” noise coming from the pump area when I engage the switch, both up and down, but the motor does not come on.

Any assistance on how to test the trim system and eliminate a culprit is appreciated, bonus for detailed step-by-step or a great youtube video link :).

Ayuh,...... The odds are, ya got corroded wirin' ends,......

Start at the battery, 'n clean All the connections to shiny Clean metal, both ends of all the wires, throughout the entire trim system,.....

My guess is, the same thing woulda fixed it last year, without buyin' the new relays,.....

Thank you for the response
I plan to do the following when I am on the boat next time
- “Bench test” the trim pump motor with jumper cables to the green and blue motor cables
- Thoroughly clean all electrical connections and add dielectric grease
- Inspect the fuse on the starboard side of the pump assembly, didn’t realize that it was a fuse last time I was in there

Any tips for cleaning the electrical connections, especially into the relay harnesses after I remove the relays? I will be unable to fully remove the pump assembly and the space is tight back there.

Ended up cleaning all of the electrical connections at the trim pump last night and it started working. I used some electrical connection cleaner that I purchased at West Marine. I wasn't able to get into the relay harnesses that well with the small wire brush that I was using, but it seemed to do the trick. I suspect that I have a very corroded section somewhere in the electrical network that is probably just barley holding on, but it works for now. Much appreciated.
