Trim pump tread size

Hi
I cross treaded the "in"hole on my 1989 mercruiser trim pump.
I am going on vacation next week and I have no time to order a new pump.

I was thinking about retaping the hole but I don't know the the tap size.

I just want her to make it thru next week I can't picture myself going on vacation without my mercruiser :-(

Any other ideas ?
