Trim Pump

Just replaced both solenoids on trim pump assembly (and properly grounded now).
At first nothing worked, then after screwing around with the switch on the the throttle lever I was able to get both the tilt and trim "down" to work.
Tried the same with up on both switches....nothing.....has anyone seen these toggle switches in the throttle lever go bad, both "ups" at the same time.
Am I missing something?
I am boggled!

Re: Trim Pump

yep...sorry 'bout that. Its an oildyne (newer style with plastic reservoir) on a 91 Bayliner Capri, 4.3l Mercruiser, with an alpha 1 outdrive.

My only guess at the moment is that its either both switches (doubtful), or the 3-prong connector plug and that perhaps the blue isn't making contact inside the plug. Unfortunately there' snot way to see if this is the case

Re: Trim Pump

Thanks for the link Don S. Unfortunately I am still not sure what the problem is. It is either the toggle switches in the module (on the throttle lever) or the wiring harness at the trim pump.

I attempted putting a multimeter and checking the voltage on the "boat-side" of this harness. This is the 3-prong connector. I can't get any sort of reading bye doing this though. Anyone have a suggestion?
