Trim question

I have a Merc 115HP Four Stroke build in 2007. My boat is very sensitive to trim angle, so I am regularly trimming for optimal performance. To get on plane, it is critical to be trimmed all the way down. Sometimes, when I trim down, it is difficult to know when you reach the full down position and releasing the trim switch without paying close attention and your head on a swivel. In these cases, I sometimes keep pushing the trim switch for a few seconds with the trim pump activated and the motor at it's lower stop not moving. Is this bad for the trim hydrolyics? It is only for a few seconds, but I worry that damage will eventually occur. When at it's lower limit, with the pump still pumping, is the hydrolyic fluid just bypassing? Anyway, I don't want to damage anything.

Thanks

You won't damage anything... They are design to be run beyond the ends of travel without a problem......
