I just got my trim switch to operate on the throttle control but I have the out drive off for service. Is it okay to run my trim rams to see if the limit switch is set correctly? Extending 20'' +-1/4'' or do I have to wait until the out drive is installed. I'd like to be able to check the trim limit switch now so I can replace it if necessary while the bellows are being replaced. I'm new to I/O as I've always had outboards. This is an A1G2 outdrive.

You can run the trim but need the drive on because one side will extend/contract more then the other, so measuring will not be of any help

Copy that, thank you. I'll check limit switch w/ a multi meter then to at least make sure it is working...or maybe just replace them as long as I'm in there.

HA ha. A yeah... Good point. I'm such an idiot. Like I said, never had a I/O but that one should have been obvious. Thanks
