Does anyone know how to adjust the trim sensor on a 5.0 V8 cobra. This is a 1988 four winns sundowner 215. Gauge works but isn't in the correct place where it should be. I see the arm that moves with tilt but what is the best way to adjust it? Is is the flat headed bolt?

Also is there a arm that run from the choke to the carb? I put the original carb back on and replaced the choke but the other carb was wire wide opened. I am trying to figure out how this carb attaches to the choke? Anyone? Thanks Shane

Re: Trim Sensor

Not much adjustment to the Cobra trim sensor, it's just held on with 2 screws, possibly the arm may be bent causing the drive to miss it when lowering, it's spring loaded as I'm sure you know so it just follows the drive up and down. You don't say if it's 2 bbl or 4bbl but here is a link and you can see exploded views of both. Just select stern drive under products and then the year, engine size, etc. Good pictures with pn'sOMC Carbs

Re: Trim Sensor

I will check the arm to see if that it why it's not hitting. I see I have to get a choke rod. I will have to see if I can bend that arm back to set the sensor in the right spot. It's a 4bbl. Thanks Shane

Re: Trim Sensor

Bob,

I have looked through the parts list but I can't seem to locate that arm. I checked my boat out this morning and the arm on the sensor is bent.
