Hello all-

I have been troubleshooting my trim assembly. I have a wellcraft 210 classic with the 350 and my trim wont move when I engage the switches on the throttle. I used the troubleshooting guide I found online from a helpful member here ( this is it) and when I jump the connections it is fine. What isnt is when I do the solenoid test, the solenoid clicks, but nothing happens. All other test come out fine (110 amp fuse, 10 amp fuse, and jumper the main connections). Could this just be bad up and down solenoids? I always thought that if the solenoid clicks then the contactor is closing so it should engage power...i may be wrong tho. Any help is appreciated!

Contacts are pitted/eroded..........Replace or open'r up and file a tad off, It'll buy you a little time, but I'm cheap like that........So cheap in fact, I went solid state and am done forever. :D

sounds like your trim motor is shot......how old is it? if old......which it likely is.. (if it was new this problem would not be happening) replace trim motor, I appreciate the buying time suggestion, Ive done that....trouble is, when the motor goes for good, it's never in your driveway where you can fix it, your on the water someplace with a drive you cant lift up to get boat out of water back on your trailer.... replace the motor's my call

He said the motor works fine when he jumps across the solenoid

and when I jump the connections it is fine.

......trim motor is good if he can bypass the solenoid and the motor runs "fine" eh?

OP, Think I'd be replacing/addressing the jumped over device(solenoid) that when bypassed, made the motor work before I'd be replacing the motor, not sure I follow the other logic......that's where my money would be anyway.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it! I also just realized this is in the wrong forum... I should be in the I/O forum lol.
