my quicksilver control part number 9274482 has the trim switch in the top of the handle. The up postion is not working, I took it out and it is shot. Now to trouble shoot it I use the trailer switch to raise the drive. Problem is I cannot find this switch for my controler. Its a top mount and its a 1985 sea ray. thanks everyone.

Got a photo (of the control)?

BTW... If the drive goes UP with the TRAILER switch but not the UP switch, it's more likely the trim limit switch (or associated wiring) in the drive....

As Chris pointed out, It's not likely the control lever switch, but to be certain, here is the troubleshooting chart (with wiring diagrams) so you can track down the problem easily before buying a bunch of parts you don't need.

Re: TRIM switch in **** lever bad

Here are the pics from my manual that I have. I also confirmed that the switch is bad because i was able to remove it from the lever and bend these tiny clips out to open it. Inside is a very simple switch but one side was completely rotted and had no copper to make connection. Also I jumped each wire and up and down works when I jump it. Problem is I cannot find this switch anywere.
