Trim Tab Adjustment

So is it normal that there is no "sweet spot" on the trim tab adj that works through out the rpm range? I've gotten the boat to track hands free @75% throttle, or @ WOT but no matter how I try it pulls one way or the other at most rpm settings. Will a 4 blade prop make any difference?

You adjust the trim tab like this.

Re: Trim Tab Adjustment

I understand the adjustment, I just can't find a spot that is decent across the RPM range. My steering is extremely free, not sloppy, but just turns super freely. If I get the trim tab so that it runs true @ WOT, when you pull it back the boat turns, and because the steering is so free it will rapidly turn full over if your not holding on to it. My big concern is if the wife or kids are driving and they let go of it, I'd really like to stiffen up the steering just slightly so it doesn't free wheel as easy as it does.

that's because there is only one sweet spot for this fixed adj. ya adj. the tab for equal steering at your favorite speed, load and trim. any other speed, load or trim and the tab won't be adj. properly. i adj. for two, slight trim up and for about 2700 rpm. anything else and it'll pull one way or the other.
