My port side trim tab goes down but won't come up. Where can I start looking? Is there a pump for them, or a motor?

Re: trim tab not working

I am going to guess these are Bennett's as Smart Tabs don't "go down" OR "come up" they are always down when observed out of the water. Maybe wrong, but anyway . . . you should try this link to Bennett's site, it should get you started:

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hydraulic trim tabs. I had a chance to take a look at them. Two wires going out the boat to the piston. I have power at the switch. I tightened up the scews at the junction box on the transom and the piston went up when I played with the switch after that. Put it down again and had to play with the switch a little to get it back up. Maybe the switch is going?

Re: trim tab not working

Thanks for the link QC.
It appears that I have electromechanical actuators. Probably Lenco's.
I'm guessing that since the actuator works fine going down and I'm only having intermittent trouble getting it back up, that the trouble is somewhere in the switch ,wires, or connections.
I have a dual rocker switch. I'm wondering if a bennet switch would do the same job???
