Hi all:

I have a 1991 Bayliner Trophy WA, and will be installing Bennett trim tabs with the EIC5000 which functions as a rocker switch, tab position indicator, and auto tab retractor. For the retract feature, I need to wire one of the leads from the rocker switch to a circuit that is only hot when the engine is on, and off when the key is off. I have the factory fuse block behind the helm and a rats nest of wires coming off the ignition switch. Any help as to where I could connect this lead would be appreciated. Would any of the fuse block terminals do what I need it to?

Thanks,

Mike

What type of engine is in your bayliner? Wiring in a boat is usually done based on the engine that is installed in it.

Another route would be to grab a circuit tester or multi meter and check your fuse block / distribution block.

You might be able to wire it up to your gauges as they normally only have power when the key is on

Your ignition switch is probably a 5 pole push to choke style correct? If so the purple wire from the ignition harness should be your accessory wire. Double check it with a multi-meter or test light. But that should give you a starting point.

You may want to check your igniton switch as well. Some have an accessory wire on them
