Complete newbie. Any recommendations on trim tabs? The kids want to water ski and learn to wakeboard. Sounds like trim tabs can help get planing faster.

Also, boat has a stock aluminum prop, don't know the pitch. How much improvement can a SST prop designed for hole shots give you?

Thanks

Any prop can have increased hole-shot by venting the prop with the right sized holes...alot depends on what your Wide open throttle RPM is with that prop you have now.

Shawn, I have the same boat, but with the 5.7. Same issues on getting on plane. I tried out a friend's High-Five 19P this weekend and was blown away. I am ordering a Ron Hill's Signature as we speak, hopefully I'll have it prior to Friday and will post my results.

Shawn, I picked up the Signature 5 from Ron Hill Marine (I bought it third party as they are not the easiest company to get ahold of). Anyway.. Wow..

What a HUGE difference this prop made over my previous (2) that I had. I had the boat loaded up and BAM! she ripped up on plane like a raped ape. I have noticed some vibration which makes me think one of two things. (1) the prop isn't balanced or (2) I have an outdrive issue. I'll need to yank the lower unit to make sure everything is in proper running order.

I didn't seem to loose any top end either and for the first time, I am able to trim at higher speeds without worrying about blow out or porposing.
