I have a 1988 bayliner capri cuddy 1952.She has a 305 omc cobra.Runs great pulls on plane fast. The problem Im having is water coming in the vent holes. This only happens when hard acceleration or pulling tube or skier.I know for a fact she isnt water logged.Rebuilt with no foam and drains running back to the bilge. It has a 14 1/2 19 prop and tacs out at 5200 speedometer shows 50 to 55 depending on water being run on.Will a hydrofoil or trim tabs work to keep back end out of water?

my blower vents are above the rubrail on my 19. thats weird, seems like yours should be up higher. this is the best pic I have.....

unscrew and turn them around.
looks like spray should slide over then.
maybe hydrofoil on the lower unit?

you are stern heavy to begin with, put a set of smart tabs on it, to get the tail up.

Hey redone, is there a child flipping us off in the pic of your boat? If so, awesome!

I think my swim ladder will be in the way of a set of smart tabs. What about a hydrofoil or whale tale?

haha no...thats me, my sister, and my then 5 yr old tryin to wave. I just took a hydrofoil off my boat, im getting ready to get SmartTabs for it. the foil didnt do much for it, and I got a little paranoid about putting extra stress on the outdrive. It depends on the boat though, it might work for ya. Im figuring thats what you mean by "stingray".

Re: trim tabs on a bayliner

it looks like they are acting more as water scoops then blower vents. I still say they are too low, but not much that can be done about that. It should only be those 6 screws on each to turn em around.
