Trim tabs or stabilizer foil?

I see strim tabs generaly on bigger boats. Stabilizer foils (on the leg) I see on all sorts of boats. <br /><br />What about a li'll 12 ft. cartop? <br /><br />I have had experience with the motor mounted foil on an inflatible and the results were pleasing.<br /><br />Any pros/cons about the two?<br /><br />Thanks

I just removed a foil from my 9.9 on a 10' inflatable because I was not happy with the results. While it did improve things, it wasn't great. Last weekend I installed Smart Tabs and the improvement to the dinghy was amazing. Very little bow rise, faster planing time and lower planing speeds. You may want to check them out.
