Trim/Tilt gauge is sticking

I have a 2002 Four Winns 234 Funship. I noticed needle on the trim gauge wasn't moving while operating my tilt/trim. I tapped on the gauge while operating the trim and the needle began moving, although it wasn't moving smoothly.

Is there anything I can do with my gauge to get it to operate smoothly?

Your tapping on the gauge may have been coincidence. In most cases its the trim sensor on the outdrive and not the gauge. If it is the gauge, it just needs to be replaced, don't know of anyone repairing them, and most likely its cost prohibitive.
