I have a bit of a custom/hotrod boat. A small 16 foot 1959 runabout that has been tweaked more than restored as one would a vintage car. I am starting with the motor now that I have found one. A 1962 Mercury 700 (full gear shift) in good running condition with good compression. The motor that I have been running that is tired and ready for a rebuild is a late 80's inline that has been repainted to match the period of the boat. As I am looking to part out the newer engine I am left with the thought of removing the entire trim tilt assembly and placing it on the antique providing a nice clean look while still getting the added benefit of trim tilt. I know the trim tilt assembly will bolt into the newer inline 6. Considering this however is the older slightly smaller block Im not sure if it is the same casting as the newer engines.
