Trim / Tilt Issue

1983 Bas Cat.
1983 85 Merc
Trim type: Single solenoid, 2 cylinders

Solenoid was replaced last year.
Hydraulics needs bleeding, motor was running fine before the trim quit working.

Issue:
When holding the button in the up position solenoid clicks once, trim motor does not run.
When holding the button in the down position solenoid does not click and trim motor does not run.

Trouble Shooting: wires look good.
When jumping red to blue on the solenoid, solenoid clicks, trim motor does not run.
When jumping from red to green on solenoid, solenoid does not click and trim motor does not run.

I figured that even if the solenoid was bad, by jumping these wires the motor should run.
Am I mistaken here?
Ive looked through the forum and didnt find anything but there were so many posts I may have missed some.
Please advise.

based on my limited knowledge its probably the pump motor.

I tested mine by using a separate set of jumper wires and a fully charged battery. Negatve to the small post pointing straight up on top of the motor and positive to either of the 2 wires that come out of the side of the motor.
If the motor doesnt run there is a problem. You may try lightly tapping the motor while the test wires are connected.
