Trim tilt problem

1994 150hp mariner, trim motor trims engine down
tilt up not working. Up Solenoid does click But motor does not run when I press the up switch.

Can you isolate the trim motor leads and reverse polarity, clicking relays don't mean the trim motor is bad. I had the same problem and the clicking relay. replaced relay and tilt/ trim worked as it should. Contacts inside relay get corroded , I have a 95 Yamaha. Check the resistance on the relay, disconnect wires before testing.

just to clarify, isolate trim motor leads and use jumper cables testing direct, reverse polarity for up and down.

Swap the relays...problem should follow.

'94 should have solenoids.. put direct 12v power to tha big "blue" lead from trim motor..... you can jump it to tha big red wire on tha same solenoid...
