Trim troubleshooting

For the below 470/Alpha 1 gen 1...
Intermittently clicking when trying to lower the trim. Up works fine. Cleaned up the main connections to/from the battery, though haven't done the little wires on the solenoids yet. I see the troubleshooting guide from this thread, so I'll go through that. As a quick 'n dirty though, it looks like I can jump the red wire to the larger green/white to bypass the solenoid, correct? Also, it mentions a faulty field winding--is that referring to the motor? And why would that only affect the down direction (although I suppose this probably wouldn't be an intermittent problem)?

I would suspect the down (G/W) solenoid. Yes you can jumper the solenoid.
