Trim up solenoids

I found the cause of my Trim up/down wiring not working. My solenoids are sticking. I've found some rather old posts that suggest that these solenoids are pretty generic, and that I should be able to use just about any type of 12 volt solenoid on my 1988 100 hp Mercury O/B. I found a set of Mercury power trim solenoids on e-bay, but they look somewhat different than the ones currently on my o/b. I wanted to check with some of the more current folks on this forum. Go buy a pair of new ones from a dealer. We're not talking a lot of money here. Go in, write a check, you'll have the right ones, and you can put them on...all in the same day.<br /><br />With electrical and electronic parts from eBay, you pays yer money and you takes yer chances. And it'll be days if not weeks before you find out if they're even the right ones.
