Trim Wiring Question

I have been restoring a 1985 Chris Craft Scorpion and all has been going well so far! Knock....Knock....

I will post pictures soon.

The trim gauge and Up trim does not work. Down works fine and I use trailer button to get trim up.

I use feel to drive so not a big deal but I want the gauge to work for possible future sale.

Here is the question....Trim switches on outboard look new. They are wire nutted to original wires so I know they have been replaced at one point in time. Original wires are dry roted and frayed and fall apart. I want to re-wire them but how to I get wires back through hull? They look like they go beside Gimbal bearing but I am not exactly sure. How is it water tight? I don't want to take everything apart either to get to it.

Thanks.

Re: Trim Wiring Question

Sorry to say, but you do have to tear everything apart to replace the wires if you want to do it right...
