Perhaps a stupid question or one for another forum, but here goes. I've got a 1992 Sportcraft center console (18ft) with a 1983 evinrude 115 hp outboard. I took the boat in for a steering problem. They replaced the steering cable and now my power trim is stuck. I can here the trim's motor running but its not moving. I'm not sure if there is a connection between the service and the new problem. Either way, I've been told that I might need to just add fluid. Is this right and if so, what type is used...i.e. is it transmission fluid, lower unit lube, etc...? Thanks for any help.

Tilt and trim fluid is available at Wal-mart/K-mart or any marine dealer. Raise the motor all the way up,(by hand after you loosen the manual release screw on the starboard side transom bracket)tighten the release screw back up,and top off the reservoir.Cycle up/down a few times and top off again.

Good luck

Dave

Thanks so much for the advice! If the engine is currently stuck up. Do I skip that first step?

I'm assuming you checked the trailer lock right?
