Hello there,
My name is Michel from Holland. I enjoy this forum very much.

I have a Yamaha F100, year 1999. I great engine, but i have a little problem with it.

When i trim the motor out of the water, the motor 'locks' on the top end. The motor doesn't trim back. I hear the trim running, but no result.

Is it possible that there is to low oil in the trimcilinder? I can't find a technical draw of the trim.

Thanks, and grettings from Vinkeveen (nearby Amsterdam)

Re:Trimproblem with the Yamaha F100

Hello,
Thanks for the question and reply!

Yes, i went to the local Yamaha dealer. He disassemble the cilinder. The cilinder was at the top damaged. A cilinder cost about 700 euro.... The motor is fine, but 10 years old.

Solution: he make a mark on the bracket. When i trim the motor up, i dont go past the mark. He's almost on the top.

Is there a fix for it? Where can i find this? Thanks!

Greeting from the Netherlands

Michel
