I am installing a bow mounted trolling motor on my 20' Lund Alaskan. I'm looking for some ideas on where to put the batteries. There aren't many Lunds here in OK to look at. Thanks!

Re: Trolling Motor Batteries

Maybe repost this in the electronics questions. Very few Lund owners on this board, and even then we often forget to check down here. Try contacting Saskatoon2005. He is often found in the electronics board, so you may as well post this there.

I own a 1999 Alaskan SS 20 and use a 24volt bow mount trolling motor. I purchased 2 group27 deep cycle battery trays and placed them in the left and right compartments in the bow floor behind the seat mount. The trays are screwed into the floor. They should be in the same location on each side for balancing the boat. I also find the weight of the batteries help to keep the bow down for a smoother ride. hope this helps

I am a (Mr. Pike) Lund guy- so sorry, I can't be more help to you. I would advise posting on the Walleye Central boards. There are more Lund folks there than any other board. Several are running Alaskans and you should be able to find someone to post pictures of their installation there. Once you find the link to the forums, post under boats. Good luck!
