Trolling Motor Help

I have a 19 foot Key West and want to put a bow mounter trolling motor on it. There is a high bow rail on it and I would like to keep it. I think if I extend it a couple of inches I think it may work.
Has any one done this?
Also any preference between Motor Guide and Minkota. The Motor guide is much cheaper. Anyone use the wireless? Any problems with it.?

I use a wireless MK and would never consider going back to MG.

I used a MG W45 and went to the outside of the railing, vs removing or creating a gap to allow a more inboard mounting. Because it overhangs the side, you have to be very careful on docking or dock on the other side.

Also thanks for the picture ,its a good help. My railing comes out to the edge of the bow so I am thinking that I can mount it on the inside of the railing and that it may slide out under it when I am using it.
