Trolling motor mount on my omc 800 bowrider

Just received a 92 evenrude electric trolling motor with foot control in pristeen shape for my Bday from my son, I have a flat area around the front of the hull, but not sure if more forward on the bow or back 3 feet from that, i can mount either place. does more forward mounting give better control?

Hey doral, this is not a specific OMC outdrive issue. I think you would have better luck in the

It's best to have the TM as close to the point of the bow as possible, makes controlling the boat easier.
