Trolling Motor not getting power after the batteri

I found out why my trolling motor not working but i dont know what this pieace is for that went bad. Its a little silver box that come off the batteri. The wire goses from the batteri to the silver box then to the trolling motor, SO my question is can i just jump this box and run the trolling motor strait to the batteri

It's a circuit breaker. If it failed you should replace it. A TM will run without it but it's there to provide protection from overcurrent situations.

I have circuit breaker on the positive and negitive side does there need to be one on the negitive side?
