Ok i have a 1986 16ft bayliner capri. I was out this weekend and everything was going great until it was time to head back, turned key and not even the starter click. Managed to get it back to shore it started out of nowhere. My question is this i guess.
I have a trolling motor i normally put on the transom next to the motor and trolled with on my old boat but on this new one i cant do that anymore. So i was thinking of putting a metal bracket off to the side of the main motor that way if we need the trolling motor on to get back we can. Yes we have oars and anchors and all that stuff, however with my luck the motor would go out in the middle of nowhere with quite a way back to shore.
Has anyone done something like this? If so could someone give me some pointers on a home made version that would work for this. Its not a big trolling motor and it was given to me so i was thinking just some sort of bracket bolted up to the rear of the boat oposite the swim platform should work. Thanks for any advice and help. I had thought of the bow mount setup but i dont have the area for that to be effective in my opinion but i have been wrong many times in my life.. I was married once. Lol
