For you guys with trolling motors on your pontoons. Would a 48" shaft be long enough for most pontoons? I am rebuilding mine and I haven't had it in the water yet so it's hard for me to know but I ran across a good deal on one with a 48" shaft.

It would depend on the diameter of your tubes.
Measure from the top of your deck down to the water line on the tubes, then add at least 18 inches, to be sure that the motor is in the water and covered.

48 should work. If it doesn't, replace the shaft with a longer one.
