Trolling Motor Speed

Anyone know of a way to get more speed from a Minn Kota trolling motor. I use a 10.5' Bass Boat as a dinghy for my live aboard and love the quiet of Minn Kota but hate the slooooow speed. Am in the process of looking for a new (used) motor around 40-50 lb. thrust but I know that the extra thrust won't yield much in the way of speed.

Well...I'm no expert, but there are several alternative with the usual drawbacks. Get more thrust/spend more money. Buy more thrust/move up to a 24 volt system = more weight. Basically, no you can't get more speed. However, there is one method that may prove beneficial; The boat may appear to move faster if your life style slows down. (Just kidding). DuPont
