I have a 1986 Bomber Cobra Fish & Ski with a Mercruiser 140. At the front of the boat is a panel for the trolling motor. The panel has a switch for up and down trim of the outdrive, a switch for the running lights and a 2-position switch (run/charge) for the TM and a volt gauge showing charge of the TM battery.
Currently, the TM runs when the run/charge switch is in either position. Is this correct? The volt meter shows the charge only when in the charge position. Is this correct? Also, the 3-prong plug for the TM has 12v going to both of the positive tips of the female recepticle. Is this correct? I think not.
Also, the run/charge switch has only two positions but has 6 spade terminals on the back. One side of three are all grounds and the other side of three are all hot, depending on the switch position, with the middle terminal always hot. Is this correct?
I know I've asked a lot of questions, sorry, but I need help figuring this thing out. If anyone can help, it would greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
RJS65
