I would appreciate any comments on what trolling motor I should consider. I hava a 14 foot aluminum boat. I cant spend alot of money (as per my wife) . I will probably have to stay with one in the back of the boat operated by hand ... not a foot peddal (because of money) . What thrust should I get? What models have been good to you ? Which have been bad?
Dennis

28 to 35 # would be sufficient. Go with Minn Kota. Make sure you get the latest batery saving technology.

Check out: www.cabelas.com.

Sometimes they offer reman. motors at great coast savings. Enjoy!!

30 lbs should be more than sufficient. Check out your local paper and pick up a used one...probably about $75.
Dman

Re: Trolling motor

It looks like the 30 thrusts are 30" and with more thrust it gets 36" tall. That seems tall for my boat and it sits right behind me so it would probably get in my way if I tried anything other than the 30" length . Im assuming that I should mount it in the rear alongside my motor. I will be driving the boat as my son is only 5 . You mentioned something about new battery technology. Are all new Minn Kota 's using this new technology. Is the endura 30 a good buy for a 14 foot boat?
