I have trouble getting on plane due to boat's weight in the stern.

Has anyone tried a stabilizer or trolling plate that mounts on the motor for 6hp Tohatsu?

I saw one that had good reviews on Cabelas, but one reviewer said it didn't fit their 5hp Tohatsu.

The fins seldom help much if you can't even achieve plane. What kind of boat is it on? Did it ever plane before?

I'd agree with PAVNV , I've had outboards with dolefin type devices. They will pop you up on plane faster IF the boat /motor combination is adequately powered. However, if you're struggling to get up on plan at all, it likely isn't your answer. You might try a tiller extension and move your position forward (or at least move the fuel tank forward.) FWIW, it's why I run two strokes in these lower sizes. Better power to weight ratio.

Getting to plan is not my problem, having the stern sitting 3-4 inches from the water line is.

Do you know if they make one for the 15hp 4 stroke, where I can get one, how long they are, and are they hard to install?

Any reputable chandler will have tiller extensions available. We sell them. They take about 60 seconds to install, including unwrapping the unit.
