So, even though I've had my 1995 Trophy 1802 for almost a month, today was the 1st time she's been splashed, thanks in part to a bad steering tube and then adding to that, a out-of-place shift rod. Why not do a fuel line change, lower unit oil change and an imeller whilst we're at it, right?
Hudson, Florida, north of Clearwater Beach by about 45 mins, overcast to partly sunny and HOTTTT! Water temp 89 fahrenhpit & air temp upper 90s to 100 heat index...light chop. I fired it last night in the driveway after charging the batts overnight for the first time since I bought it. Half throttle for warm up and VROOOMMMM. Let it run a bit, tell tale was strong and temps on the head were 115-120 after t-stats opened. So, I got brave and had the wife drop me off at the ramp and told her to take the trailer home. It was low tide so we couldn't use the subdivision "ramp", had to go about 2 1/2 miles south. As soon as she floated off, hopped in and VROOM again. I'm liking this. Oh, by the way, in the water, off the trlr and out of the way in under 2 minutes, lol.
Once I idled out the "go slow lane", it was "nut-cutting-time" so I punched her. And then, this happened;
At 4500 rpm I was hitting about 35mph....cruising rpm (3700ish) about 30 maybe 29. Woohoo! I'm liking this boat~
Now, however, it's time to go pick up the wife. She's all about ride...doesn't like to go "bump, bump bump" as she calls it.
Uh-oh, she picks a tough seat for boating. No choice, however so I punch it again to plane. How's the ride honey?
I took that pic running 33mph and she's happy and I'm even happier.
I like this boat. She's a keeper....and so's the boat!
